about
Song written in Oct 2010. Recorded Nov 11. Was listening to some punky and new wave compilations during 2010/2011 which gave the inspiration for quicker raw guitaring. Built the chorus with basic power chords and then worked around for a good hook in the chorus and came up with "Girl in the Cab running away from her dad" Then built a story around a girl thats had enough and wants to get away from her Dad.
This was not the intention, but the song coincidentally ties in with an organisation i support called Centrepoint ( www.centrepoint.org.uk) helps provide homes for young people that are homeless and/or run away from home. They provide shelter support and get people back on a positive footing. Its also supported by HRH The Duke of Cambridge so it must be OK.
The Philadelphia group sharpen their hooks and internal dyanmics for a fun and non-dorky take on power pop anyone can get behind. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 26, 2024
Montreal psych-pop veterans sound as infectious and hypnotic as ever on their seventh LP, slinging jangly riffs and bright vocal harmonies. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 14, 2024
